The ABC’s of Well Being and Mental Health

Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.

There are some great FREE parent and teacher resources online. Just google ABC’s of mental health or go to: http://www.hincksdellcrest.org/ABC/Introduction.aspx

There are some wonderful resources there to support you in finding ways to recognize and deal with challenges to children’s well being.

Hincks-Dellcrest has some inexpensive webinars on a wide variety of topics related to children’s well being. Topics include worry, anxiety, anger and supporting your child in coping with those. As well as:

  1. What behaviour is age-appropriate and what is cause for concern?
  2. What are some of the factors that may influence behaviours?
  3. What are some strategies you can use to support your child and foster mental health?

You can find more information on that at: Visit www.hincksdellcrest.org/institute for the full schedule and to register.
