Monument Unit: HANDS-ON Assignment

Monument Unit: Hands-ON Assignment

Your Task:

Choose a person, concept, idea or civilization from History. You will write their eulogy, and design their grave stone. This is a summative task – where you will get the chance to apply your learning and understanding in a hands-on way.

  1. Choose your person, concept, idea or civilization. Choose someone or something concrete, an actual person from history, or think outside of the box. It must be related to a topic we have studied or will study in our textbook this semester.
  2. Write their eulogy. A eulogy is a brief description of their lives, accomplishments, and time spent while living. It is usually positive, uplifting, and very descriptive. Include the basic facts of your choice in this written section.
  3. Design their grave stone. First, choose a stone. You may choose one of mine, or you can provide your own. Design your grave stone on paper. Plan it out, list how you are going to mark it (paint, crayon, charcoal…) When your draft copy is complete, move on and decorate the grave stone. See example provided.
