What is Canada? Project
Your task is to choose any other aspect of Canada and briefly research it using your atlas and online resources. This is a chance for you to investigate an area of interest that we haven’t covered yet. Here are some sample topics:
Aboriginal Languages / Settlement
Exploration in Canada
Geology
Agriculture
Snowfall
Natural Disasters
Watersheds
Manufacturing
Trade
Territorial Evolution (Canada through history)
Tourism
National Parks / Provincial Parks
Transportation Routes (Highways, Rail, Sealanes)
Symbols of Canada (Flag, Coat of Arms, Seal)
Any other Topic Approved by Teacher
- Choose a topic. Answer all questions below In a word document, using full sentences.
- Briefly introduce your topic.
- Explain why your topic is important to Canada. Why should we study this?
- Describe why you choose this particular topic.
- Come up with a few test questions other students might have to answer based on your topic. (Be sure to ask questions about the most important points of your topic… not obscure facts or details.)
- Find images, maps, photographs, etc. that illustrate what your topic is all about.
- Save it all to your server and print it out. Hand it in with your name on it.
